Just before KAMBAKKHT ISHQ released in 2009, during an interview, we had
conveyed the feeling of his fans wanting him to return to action, and also
asked Akshay Kumar if he had any plans of getting back into the 'Khiladi'
mode again! The actor politely replied saying ''Nothing at the
moment...hopefully soon.''

However, it seems that the actor had misread the feelings of his fans and
his career went into a slump (barring a HOUSEFULL and DESI BOYZ).
Cut to 2012, and the actor's return to action, sprinkled with a liberal
dose of comedy and wit has been welcomed with open arms, and ROWDY RATHORE
has netted 48-49 crores (to be validated) during the opening non-holiday
weekend, beating the previous records (HOUSEFULL 2 and READY) by more than
6 crores!
As things stand today, ROWDY RATHORE is all set to be Akshay Kumar's second
100 crore plus netter and take him once again into the top league. And
before we leave, there are reports that ROWDY RATHORE is also doing good
business in the overseas.
